Ralph Coulter of Maynard died on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Home Front First in Montevideo at the age of 95.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Maynard Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Beverly Crute officiating. Burial will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM with a prayer service beginning at 4:15 at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ralph William Coulter was born on January 26, 1923 in Stoneham Township, Chippewa County to Harold and Sarah (Tebben) Coulter. He entered the U.S. Navy during World War II. Ralph was united in marriage to Lela Pray on July 7, 1946 in Kerkhoven, Minnesota. They lived their whole life in the rural Maynard area where Ralph was a farmer. They had 4 children.
Ralph was a member of the Maynard Presbyterian Church where he served on the board of trustees and as an elder. He was a life long member of the American Legion Post 252 and later also joined the Montevideo VFW. His hobby was growing giant pumpkins for the grandchildren. He enjoyed and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. One favorite memory of Ralph with the grandchildren was pulling wagons and sleds with the tractor and giving rides to them.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Lela; his children: Robert (Diane) Coulter, Rochester, MN, Wayne Coulter, Maynard, MN, Lois (Mark) Soine, Montevideo, MN; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister Myrtle Raebel, Montevideo, MN as well as nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lora May in infancy; brother, Arnold Coulter; sister-in-law, Marie Coulter; daughter-in-law Diane (Harguth) Coulter and brother-in-law, Clifford Raebel.
