Donald Skogrand, of Montevideo, died on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 89.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Pastor Matt Philaya officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, August 21 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Donald Curtiss Skogrand was born July 24th, 1930 to Peter and Alma (Gulden) Skogrand. He grew up north of Montevideo and went to school in Milan. On March 31, 1949 he was united in marriage to Patricia Mary Kellner. He farmed until 1957 when they moved to Montevideo. He drove milk truck and worked construction until he joined the Chippewa County Sheriff Department. He very proudly served as sheriff for 12 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards.
Donald is survived by one son, Steven Skogrand of Shakopee; sister: Dolores (Donald) Cornelius, Eden Prairie; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild as well as extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia; two sons: David and Brian; four brothers; 2 sisters; 6 brothers-in law; and 5 sisters-in-law.
