Arthur Lanes, of Montevideo, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 104.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be held at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo one hour prior to services on Friday.
Arthur R. Lanes was born in Montevideo on September 22, 1914 to Arthur H. Lanes and Amanda (Rodeberg) Bollinger. He was baptized at Saron Lutheran Church on November 8, 1914, and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on September 28, 1929. He attended District 74 and graduated from St. Cloud High School.
Arthur was united in marriage to Alice Eichhorst on May 14, 1943 at Melrose Lutheran Church in Melrose Park, Illinois. He served with the U.S. Army from June 1943 to June 1946. Arthur worked construction and maintenance on passenger elevators in Chicago, Illinois for 30 years, and retired an Honorary Member #2 of Elevator’s Construction Union. He is also a life time member of the American Legion and VFW.
Arthur is survived by countless family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; stepfather, George Bollinger; and sister, Idell Tobias.
